Personal Profile.

I am Sean Collins. I am 19 years old and still live at home. I have 2 cats called Bonnie and Pepsi, and a dog called Max. So my house is a bit like a Zoo. I have a sister too who is 17 and still at School.

I have been studying Hairdressing for almost 2 years now, and have been loving every minute of it! I started off in the Skill's for work program doing Intermediate 1 through School with Clydebank College. After doing this it gave me a taste of what I was in for so I decided to carry it on and I am glad I did. It all started with a slight obsession with hair I had which I had to address.

After I have completed the course I am hoping to carry on doing hairdressing in the industry and also doing SVQLEVEL 3. This will hopefully expand my knowledge on the course and will give me more experience. I am looking forward to see what the rest of the course holds as the hairdressing industry is always changing via fashion trends.

I have so far been enjoying my job working in Eclipse Hair studio which I started in January. I worked in a salon called Thomas McKendrick's beforehand but it didnt quite work out so I had to change for the best. I have been learning lots in there, and dealing with more clients as it is a very fast pased so lots is getting done around me. I am getting to come into contact more with clients and feel I am getting the experience I have been looking for.

My intentions after completing this course is to keep on learning as much as I can! I would also like to work in many different sectors of the industry eg. in a salon, behind catwalk shows & magazine shoots, passing my training onto others, owning my own salon, working abroad. I like to think that the sky is my limit.

With my spare time I enjoy working out, going to the movies, socialising in bars, clubs or pubs usually in Glasgow, & playing golf. I also like to pick up extra hours in my work experience placement if the oppurtunity rises as I cant get enough of working away with hair or even just watching hair being styled etc.

I have been really enjoying competiting in the competitions at Clydebank college & Coatbridge! It has been great experience and great fun despite I didnt win anything. It was great to see the different styles people were doing and the different kinds that can be accomplished just with a set hair do and a bit of backcombing.
